Throwback Thursday: Cinema In Barcelona.

I know I've already done this weeks throwback...but come on. This is to good to pass up. Its not Australian I know. But the Cinema team in well and truely STACKED with steeze. The whole team is amazing.

Therefore, this is a MUST WATCH. go go go.

Also entirely irrelevant to this video. This is our 50th post on Gippy Crew so stay tuned for more! Thanks to everyone hitting the site daily and those who peep it ocassionally! Keep up the hits and we will keep up the work we are putting in. Cheers.

Throwback Thursday: Chris Nicol 2012.

This week for Throwback Thursday we have Crashys early 2012 edit. Filmed with Nick Derrick, Chris throws down some serious moves and some sweet combos as per usual its all dialled as all get out. Sadly at the moment Chris is out for a bit with knee issues and hopefully some minor surgery and a couple months off the bike will get him back on it.

Chris shreds and keep his name in mind as he will definitely be headed places.

Riding Way Store.

A few good friends Chris Nicol, Alex Mamo and Liam Kruimel all ride for Riding Way Store run by Stephen Taylor-Madin aka Gorak. They are located in East Bentleigh and supply a whole bunch of rad bmx product and anything else bicycle that will tickle your fancy.

Peep their site @ www.ridingway.com.au/

And on another note give the clip Liam scored from a quick Prahran session we had last wednesday another look!

Bike Check: Pat Freyne.

Just thought I'd whip up a bike check on my own current setup. My bike has felt so sketchy for a long ass time, finally got it feeling fresh as a daisy. yeeew.

Frame: Federal Ty Morrow. 21"
Forks: Colony Guardian.
Bars: Division C-Bah.
Grips: ODI Longnecks.
Stem: Was a Fly Central (as pictured) is now a Cult Mind Control.
Headset: Fly.
Hubs: Front: Colony. Rear: Eclat Pulse.
Rims: Front: Colony. Rear: Eclat Beserk.
Tyres: Fit FAF. Redwalls.
Pedals: Colony.
Cranks: Fly.
Sprocket: Colony CC.
Chain: Shadow Half Link.
Seat: Cult Dak.
Seatpost: BSD.
Pegs: 2 Cult and 1 Colony.
Favourite part and why?  Either my Cult stem or my pegs, The stem has a really good rise to it which helps being 6'4 riding a "kids" bike haha, and my pegs because I love grinds.
Oldest part? The oldest part would have to be my cranks, I think their like, a year or two old now, held up really solid which I'm stoked with.
Newest part? Cult Mind Control stem and I think I could possibly be in love.
Weight? To be honest I have noooo fuckin' clue. It'd be sitting on like a solid 10 kilos..maybe less.
Special Modifications: I cut my bars down from 29.5" to about 28.75" because they just felt a touch to big width wise, I run my bars a little more forward then most because otherwise my knees hit my bars when I ride but the new stem has kinda helped that with the rise...haha fuck being tall sometimes.

Web Edit Re-Up: Dean Anderson Early 2012.

This a couple months old now, But it's no doubt worth posting.

Dean Anderson is kinda a local at Warragul when he's not shredding the Melbourne comp. circuit or dialling in new bangers at The Shed or Rampfest. Dean is just non stop highlights and blasts the fuck out of errrrrrrythang. Himself and Nathan Minotti put in some serious work on this and Dean has his new edit in the works at the moment, Hopefully it'll drop in a month or two.

In the meantime get a look at this, Dean shreds a bunch of places and throws some big moves down.

Joel Pauly: One Clip.

For this weeks One Clip. Joel drops a smooth line at yet another floodlight session, So stoked on this one. Joel was always a dude I looked up to when I started riding, Now he's a mate and whenever he's not busy we have a ride at the local with the rest of the dudes at Warragul.

Check it out.

Fuck Rain...

Just when we thought the worst of the rain had passed...

Fuck rain. Guessing it will be a Shed, RampIt or Rampfest session this weekend for majority of the Victorian crew this weekend!

Peace!

Throwback Thursday: Josh Backman Warragul Park.

Josh Backman is one hella vague dude to talk to..But once he steps onto his skateboard, Shit gets wild.

This is a couple months old, but seriously. Josh kills it to the point where it's ridiculous, his effortless style and array of tricks never ceases to amaze me.

More to the point, check it out for yourself.

Bike Check: Christopher Nicol.

Jam for Jayden last year. Chris slingin' B's.
Photo: Nick Derrick.

Longtime friend and all round shredder Chris Nicol and I got our shit together and did a bike check on his current setup. Personally I have known Chris for a couple years and am lucky enough to call him one of my good friends. He progresses ten times quicker then anyone I know and has always kept his smile no matter what the situation.

Recently he has been hooked up by Pilgrim as a frame sponsor and Riding Way Bike Store. He is injured at the moment and out for a few months due to a torn ACL which sucks, But Chris always keeps a positive mindset and I am so keen to see him back up and shredding as soon as possible!

Frame: Pilgrim unit 20.5.
Forks: Colony dagger.
Bars: Colony teddy V2.
Grips: Vans waffle.
Stem: BSD top load.
Headset: Colony.
Hubs: Profile mini, ti bolts, ti driver.
Rims: Alienation skylark on the front, alienation runaway on the back.
Tyres: KHE dirt 2.1 foldable on the front, KHE park 1.9 foldable on the back.
Pedals: Colony plastic, soon to be method metal pedals!
Cranks: Colony V2.
Sprocket: Colony Chris courtenay signature.
Chain: Kmc super light, soon to be an odyssey.
Seat: Kink seat, soon to be an éclat seat and seat post combo
Seat post: Noooo idea
Pegs: Not on at the moment, nothing wrong with switching it up!

Favourite part and why? Definitely my rear hub, I love a loud profile hub that works on point!

Oldest part? The seat post

Newest part? Well I got a heap of new parts from my sponsor Riding Way BMX store today and they are just about to get put on, they are the éclat seat and seat post combo, odyssey bluebird chain and some fresh new method metal pedals which are alot like snafu anorexia pedals. Shout out to Brett Coleman for the pedals!

Weight? Currently weighs in at 9.1kgs. A little to light for my likings, but it's the best bike I have ever ridden!

Special modifications: I run my bars a little further forward than normal, I just like the feel, I put rubber in my bottom bracket so it stops my cranks from moving and I play around with my driver alot to make it click louder.

Random Clips. Liam Kruimel & Pat Freyne.

Just a couple clips we filmed in the past two Wednesdays.

Pretty happy with both of these!

Liam shreds a quick line at Prahran for the camera. Filmed by Pat Freyne.

Just a line thrown together at Garfield. Filmed by Kieran Payne.

The Wednesday Sessions: Melbs.

Wednesdays are no shit my most productive day of the week. Get so much done! haha

This week myself and yet again Kieran, Headed down to Melbs to meet up with friend Liam Kruimel for a bit of roll about at Prahran and City Park. Liam scored two solid clips and a niceeeeee photo.

Headed back to Warragul to squeeze in a session and no other then Dean Anderson turned up, Haven't seen Dean in a good couple weeks so got some solid photo's with him too, He insisted he wasn't going as high as usual...Still fuckin' massive though.

Can't complain with the glorious weather getting thrown our way too!

Anyways, Scope out the photo's we shot and I will drop the clips of Liam sometime soon.

Peaaaaaceeee.

Gippy Crew....Skateboarding.?

I know this is really a bmx based blog, but the odd post here and there about skating won't really hurt, The skateboarding scene in Gippsland is as strong as bmx anyways and is waaaaaaay under exposed.

More to the point. I've been doing a bit of work photography wise with a couple local skaters and hope to get alot more done.

Zach Hall and Brendan "Nip Nip" Wahl have a shred in this edit, Filmed and edited by youngen Robby Schmitt.

On another note, I shot this photo of Marshall Roberts banging out a Tre Flip on the bank at Warragul, I've never shot skating till this so I'm pretty stoked with it!

More Of Daniel Lochki.

Here is a Sequence shot of Lochki's gap that he did at the Warragul comp a few weeks ago.

Lochki's Edit Drop.

All us local boys have been hanging for Lochki's new edit to drop for a while now, and now that it's finally here i thought we could celebrate by sharing this photo with you all, snapped this a while back when he first did that big fun box to fun box gap.

Daniel Lochki, Served Industries Edit.

A couple months ago Joel Pauly dropped the idea of Served Industries upon us, And he now has alot of good things in the works for the clothing line, No word on when anything will drop, but good things take patience and Joel is bound to come up with some fresh product.

In the meantime, longtime friend of Joel's, Daniel Lochki filmed a web edit for Served with Nick Derrick who worked his magic from behind the camera as usual.
Lochki flows everything and goes ten times higher then anyone else when it comes to riding Warragul.
Definitely don't pass up a look at this one.

Aftermath Photography & Design

Haven't posted anything in a while but here's a fresh off the shelf banger from Pat.

Chad Kerleys Invitational.

I mean...I know it's like a week old...But fuck.

Bmx has stepped up so much in the past couple years...it's so ridiculous.

Dylan Cafarella: One Clip.

Dyl....also didn't get off his ass and answer the Top 3's shit...So I've decided to drop his One Clip without it.
Dylan is one of, If not the nicest guys I know. He knows how to throw down some big shit on park too, This is just a lazy clip. Keep an eye to see some more stuff from Dyl.

Sunday Afternoons.

Usually on a Sunday majority of the Gul locals are either hungover as all get out or still blind drunk. Luckily Ricky, De La Haye and myself shook the hangovers and had a decent session. Ricky constantly professes to us how "he can't ride street"...proved himself wrong. Peep the bunch of random photo's we shot over the course of the day. Pretty happy with some of these for sure!

Kieran Payne Reporting In.

That's right, now I get to be a big internet smart guy.
But seriously, I take a lot of photos and except for my facebook page, don't really get to show them off very much, So I'd like to say thanks to Pat for letting me contribute and share my shit with you guys.
To celebrate, Here's a picture of Pat that I shot earlier today while he was being cute.

Also if you're feeling adventuress, hit up my facebook page and see if there's anything you fancy.

The Wednesday Sessions.

Every Wednesday myself and Kieran Payne (plus whoever isn't working or at school) usually have a bunch of pretty relaxed sessions due to me not having school on a wednesday, We trip around to a couple different parks and shoot some clips and photos. They are usually pretty productive so I've decided we might as well start a weekly post on them.

We hit up Garfield today and got some pretty chilled stuff and just played around with our cameras and had a roll. Pretty stoked it wasn't raining for once so we got a solid few hours of riding in too. haha

So peep a few of the photos and a random clip I scored at Warragul when we got home off the train.

Peaceeee.

Jam For Jayden 12 Months On.

So coming up to the one year mark since Jabs accident, A few of the crew decided to put on a jam to kinda celebrate the fact that one year ago we almost lost Jay, but thank fuck we didn't.

There was a whole bunch of uncertainty surrounding whether he'd be able to walk again let alone ride his bike after the injuries he sustained in a car accident, but now he's out done the odds and is back up on his feet and even better back up on his bike. We organized a fundraiser jam around this time last year just following the accident to cover some expenses his family were copping due to medical bills.
Turns out the TAC had all that end of business covered, so once Jay was back on his feet he went to work thinking up a new setup and is now rolling on 20 inch wheels once again.

It's one hell of a thing to see one of your closest dudes go through and come out the other side more positive then ever, so get amongst it for the one year on jam on June 2nd.

Whole bunch of giveaways and some food and drink or whatever will be lurking, just get down for a good time and a few laughs.

The Disposable Lives Project.

I have had my mind flicking through a whole bunch of shit the past couple of days with the bad weather not doing so flash and came up with a couple things that should be fun to mess around with.

The basic idea of the whole project is to get an insight into the day to day life of any given person in the Gippsland scene. I'm unsure as to how frequent I will make posts on it, but I'm thinking one different dude every month. Each series of photos will be shot by the one person and I think the average disposable has around 22 photos...correct me if I'm wrong.

Not only is it cool to look into what some of the lads get up to, but disposable cameras have always given off a really raw but basic vibe for me, so it'll be cool to see what different guys come up with when using the same stock standard disposable camera.

So keep an eye out for this, It'll be a bit of fun and I'll most likely try and make a start as soon as I can with someone from the local.

Peaaaaceeeee.

Ricky Ostojic. One Clip.

Planned to drop this a few days ago....So sorry for being lazy as all fuck.
We never got around to doing Rickys Top 3's.
But the main thing is, Ricky is goofy footed but still makes it all look clean as fuck! Raw unedited clip from a floodlight session at Warragul Park.

Enjoy.

Lack Of Posts.

So basically, The lack of posts has been due to a whole bunch of shit weather being thrown our way here in Gippsland meaning unless we hike to The Shed or Rampfest we can't really get a good ride in. So hopefully once the weathers improved we will hammer out a whole bunch of stuff.

On another note, there will be some stickers and what not in the works as myself and De La Haye are scraping some designs together. So stay tuned!

Focalpoint 27 Drop. Also Some Important News On FP.

Cooper Brownlee posted a write up about the news of FP no longer being a print magazine the other night. Focalpoint have been around for a while now and have been a massive influence on the Aussie bmx scene as a whole, organising jams and supporting Aussie bmx more then most. The magazine has always been kept free but due to print costs they are going digital. Have a read about what Coops had to say about it. It's sad news that they will no longer be doing it in the form of print, But it's good to know FP will be around for a long time to come thanks to Coops keeping it digital.

Peep the article Coop wrote on the focalpoint website here > http://focalpointbmx.com/wordpress/magazine-issue-27-now-available/

The final print issue (Issue 27) has just dropped so get it from one of their dealers soon!

Kieran Payne: Top 3's + One clip

Kieran Payne is one guy I just can't explain... What goes on in his head sometimes is known to only himself,  He comes up with some sick concepts and talks some real weird shit. Never the less it's hilarious. He has been playing about behind the lens lately with his 600d and isn't in it for fame or glory, just to have a good time on his bike where ever he is.

Top 3's.

People to watch ride:
Have to be Chris Nicol, Mamo and anyone I'm riding with.

DVD'S/Web Edits: Kink safety first always makes me feel happy, anything BSD related. And a crazy russian re up of Marnold called "Marnold badman gangsta".

Music: Best music for me is anything metal, punk and hip hop.

Places to ride: Love riding my local (Warragul), Rivers city park and anywhere with a ledge.

Favourite stunts to do: are grinds, fangin bowls and tooth chinks.

Things to eat: Food, food and more food.

Brands in Bmx: Colony, Eclat and any good clothing out there.

Reasons to ride: ...... Well, why the fuck not?

People to ride with: I'll ride with anyone who's down for a good time.

Things to do aside from Bmx: Other things I'm into are playing guitar, photography and xbox, guess the missus is aite to I suppose.

Ricky Ostojic: Top 3's + 1 Clip coming soon.

Warragul local Ricky Ostojic has been a good friend of mine for a while now, always down for a roll, Always progressing and generally a pretty good dude to be around.
We will whip up a 1 clip when the weather holds out long enough for us to film anything worth keeping.
In the meantime here's a picture I took of Ricky today in between the rain.

Photo: Pat Freyne.

Floodlight Sessions.

Recently we have been hooking up a few floodlight sessions at local parks or spots. Last night we set up a little undercover session at a local school with my flatrail setup. We had a pretty productive session getting some clips and photo's.
Pretty keen to have more these as the weather is starting to get cold and shitty.

Bike Check: Jayden Warn.

First up for a series of Bike Checks we will be doing is one of our own lads Jayden Warn.

So here's the low down on his current setup.

Frame: Fly Urbano 21".
Forks: BSD Ghetto V2.
Bars: Fly Tierra.
Grips: ODI Longnecks.
Stem: Proper Microlite Topload.
Headset: Animal Joints.
Hubs: Rear: BSD Backstreet 9t RHD. Front: BSD Backstreet 10mm female.

Oldest part? Whole thing is brand new. (Laughs)
Newest part? All of it, but it's all held up so I'm stoked on that!
Weight? 9.4kg or around about.
